Tolkar-Smartex AŞ, which received the title of R&D Center in 2017 within the scope of Law No. 5746, has made it its mission to create technological, ecological, and economic differences with the projects it has realized in the R&D center established at the address of 10036 Street No:6 in Atatürk Organized Industrial Zone.
Tolkar-Smartex A.Ş. has continued to produce its projects as an R&D center since its establishment in 1988, after receiving the title of R&D center instead of engineering development studies, and sells the machines it has developed through many projects in Turkey and the world market. We continue our projects and activities with the pride, awareness, and responsibility of being a local R&D center in the industrial laundry and textile machinery manufacturing sector.
It is aimed to complete and put into operation our factory, which has an area of 14,000 square meters and whose construction started in the Atatürk Organized Industrial Zone in 2020. Additionally, we plan to purchase and renovate a factory building with an area of 19,800 square meters, which we acquired as a complete facility in the Atatürk Organized Industrial Zone in 2020. We are happy to be part of one of the export and employment centers with three factories, growing and getting stronger with the latest technologies. Our aim is for the next generations to use our resources with corporate sustainability, and most importantly, to continue our activities and their contribution to the Turkish economy. We believe that we will gain the most important strength in this regard thanks to the contributions and awareness of being an R&D Center.
Our company produces products developed through R&D projects carried out in the R&D Center to create technological, ecological, and economic differences. It continues to produce successful products made in the R&D Center at its production facilities, where the latest production techniques, production machines, laser systems, and robotic tools are used. It determines its projects based on the need for a new machine, the demands or needs of the customer, project requirements for development that include functional changes, and the demand for a new product project to substitute for machines that need to be imported. All of our projects are original; moreover, they are innovative and economically beneficial projects that are considered to include current and future technologies by conducting benchmark studies and following technology trends.

Tolkar-Smartex is determined to carry out its projects with qualified personnel in its field at our R&D center and to continue its work more effectively by incorporating them. The staff working in the R&D center will diversify university-industry cooperation in areas such as project preparation, graduate education, scientific publication, and qualified personnel.
Started in 1969 in a small workshop in Izmir, TOLKAR-SMARTEX has become Turkey’s largest manufacturer with three modern factories located in Izmir Atatürk Organized Industrial Zone and more than 300 employees.
